8 Week Pictures

8 Week Pictures.    This is the final group of pictures for this litter.  All the puppies are sold and all are going to very special homes.  Two go to Australia as foundation dogs for two different kennels.  We at DASHaHOUND are proud of our lines and believe introducing both Harley and BooBoo's bloodlines is a plus to any kennel.  I know many people believe strongly in line breeding but improvement comes when new great lines are introduced.  Harley is a Fairwinds dog and BooBoo is from Preston's Ralines line through SniffNTell.  We love the promise that sharing our wonderful dogs will now go beyond our own country and go around the world.  We have shipped from NY to AK to Mexico but this is the first across the ocean shipment.  Thank you to both kennels for choosing us.  Our puppies will make us proud.

I am Bach, the only boy and promised to Margaret Keene in Australia.  I am excited about going to Australia.  I will make Margaret so proud of me.  I will be a show dog and foundation dog for improving the blood lines in Margaret's kennel.

I am Bonbon and I will stay in Arizona and live with Amanda.  I am so happy she chose me and I will get to live with Chipper (now named Gracie).  We love it when our owners come back for more, it is a testimony to our dogs.

Bubbles is my name.  Tamara chose me and I too will go to Australia to be a show dog.  I will make a grand showing and make my owners proud.  My brother and I have what it takes and we will be proud additions.  I wonder if Aussie dogs bark with and accent? hmmmm

I am Boots because of my pretty cream feet.  I too am going to a known home.  Steve and Rebecca already own Star Baby (now named Sammy).  They came to see me today and I stole their hearts as Skip knew I would.  I played with Star Baby and I know she likes me because she dragged me around by my long curly ears.  Steve and Rebecca decided to wait until next Friday to come get me.  Then, 30 minutes later they were back at the door.  lol.  So now I am on my way home.  Skip misses me already.  It was hard to say good bye.

7 Weeks

7 Week Pictures.    Itis decision time.  The puppies can go home next week if picked up here or in two weeks if shipped.

Amanda has expanded her reservation from shaded cream female pick to female pick to include Boots.  This is a perfect example of why you should leave your reservations as general as possible.  Amanda was SURE she wanted a light cream puppy.  It was to be her last and she has been saving to have a "white" puppy.  Now she is conflicted because she is falling for Boots.  The same thing happened to me.  My favorite was always shaded cream then I got Harley, sighhhhh.   lol.

I am Bach, the only boy and promised to Margaret Keene in Australia.  It is no exaggeration to say I am an incredible little boy.  I have that wonderful shading like Ruffy had as a puppy.  Boy am I good looking!!  Margaret don't you absolutely LOVE him???  He is wonderful.  Check the ears on this little guy.  Look at the middle picture.  WOW

BonBon is still now exactly the same size as Bubbles.  What a tough choice.   Bonbon is a little lighter because she has less black hair but most of that will fall out on both puppies and they will be very close.  Bubbles may retain a little more black shading on her ears.  Neither puppy has any obvious defects.  They both have good rib cages, deep sternums and goo bites.  They are too young to judge for show but both look great.

Bubbles is my name.  Bonbon and I both weigh exactly 1 lb 10 1/2 ounces.   Tamara will have to choose between my sister BonBon and me.  It will be a hard choice but one of us is going to Australia.  The other will be happy here in Arizona with Amanda or Karin.

I am Boots because of my pretty cream feet.  What a beautiful little girl I am.  I will look like my daddy Harley!! Whoo hoo.   Black and Cream dogs are full English Cream, as surely as the shaded creams above.  We all have two chinchilla genes.  My siblings would have been red but the chinchilla gene turns them cream.  I would have been black and tan but the gene turns my points cream.  It has no effect on black hair.  My siblings will retain a little black hair on the ears and maybe on the tail.  I keep all my black hair and only my "points" turn cream.  NOTE my serious look is gone now that my face fills out and my nose lengthens.  This will be a beautiful girl.  Amanda will have to pick between me and one of my sisters.  Tough call.

6 Weeks

6 Week Pictures.    It never ceases to amaze me how Harley litters produce true to form.  While Harley is a "talker", the puppies in the puppy stage are quiet and just plain sweet.  Harley doesn't really bark, he just "talks" when he is outside in the kennel.  He has a low non-offensive bark and he uses it.  This litter is like all the other cream litters he has produced.  They are calm, lovable and not at all noisy.  The wires are 10 mites more vocal.  These little ones can bark but rarely do.  I am sure, like their dad they will get "chatty" as they grow up but such quiet puppies.  This litter bred true to its parentage.  They all have wonderful personalities (thanks to Harley and Booboo),  fat little feet,  long wavy ears, perfect shading,  deep sternums, long rib cages and straight backs for solid back support.  None have any visible conformation defects at this point.  Mostly it comes down to personal preference and one puppy just reaches out and grabs you.  Bonbon is probably several days younger than the rest.  If you don't already know, dogs get pregnant multiple times over a ten day period.  When the oldest is ready to be born they all come out, ready or not.  Bonbon was the smallest but is catching up with Bubbles in size.

BonBon is still the smallest of the group but gaining on Bubbles.   I am a very pretty little girl.  It is going to be a difficult pick between me and Bubbles.  We are both very pretty.   Bubbles and I are why you should make reservations  Tamara has first pick of me or Bubbles, Karin has second pick (if she is well enough to be able to handle a new puppy) and Amanda is next.  One way or the other I will have a loving home and am not likely to become available.

Bubbles is my name.  I am a also a very pretty little girl.   Tamara will have to choose between my sister BonBon and me.  It will be a hard choice but one of us is going to Australia.  The other will be happy here in Arizona with Amanda or Karin.

4 Week Pictures

4 Week Pictures.    The puppies are really starting to come alive.  They are aware of the world around them and starting to develop personalities.

3 Week Pictures

3 Week Pictures.  I think I am starting to get the hang of the lighting.  Notice how the same puppy can appear bright cream then darker, it all depends on how close they get to the light.  The cream stands out but the black shading is now more visible.  Most of it will disappear over the next few weeks.

I am Bach, the only boy and promised to Margaret Keene in Australia.  I am simply a wonderful little boy.  Margaret is going to love me.

BonBon the name and growing is the game.   I am a very pretty little girl.  I am still the smallest but gaining weight and we will just have to see if I catch them or not.  I am healthy, happy and full of spunk.  As you can see I am also very pretty.  Tamara has first pick of me or Bubbles, Karin has second pick (if she is well enough to be able to handle a new puppy) and Amanda is next for me.  One way or the other I will have a loving home and am not likely to become available.  Bubbles and I are why you should make reservations.  Our cream girls are the first to go and are spoken for long before they are born.

2 Week Pictures

2 Week Pictures.  We have our eyes open.  I did a little better with the lighting this time.  Notice how the same puppy can appear bright cream then darker, it all depends on how close they get to the light.  They are getting quite creamy now and the light really reflects off of them.

I am Bach, the only boy and promised to Margaret Keene in Australia.  I am no less than wonderful!!  Notice how different the second picture looks than the first.  As I creep towrds the light it catches my cream and WOW!!!  I will lose all the tiny black hairs on my body and retain only some shading on the tips of my ears and possibly on my tail but not too likely.  Mostly my ears.  I am a great little boy  Margaret is going to love me.

BonBon because I am such a sweet little girl and verrrrry pretty.  I am up to 9 ounces and doing fine.

1 Week Pictures

1 Week Pictures.  What a wonderful llitter.  As always, I struggle to give you accurate photos.  I added lighting but now may have too much light.  The puppies appear golden but are really still quite mousy colored.  The light must reflect off of the undercoat and show of the cream they will be when they are older.  To give you a perspective, the background is DARK GREEN and it looks light green.  I will try moving the lights futher back nest week.  I never thought I could get too much light.

I am Bach, the only boy and promised to Margaret Keene in Australia.  I an no less than wonderful!!

BonBon because I am such a sweet little girl.  The last born of the litter and considerable the smallest I am likely a week younger then the rest.  Dogs can get pregnant multiple times and when the oldest is ready to be born they all come out.  The female is standing for 10 days and the puppies can literally be conceived that far apart.  BonBon kept Roberta up all night with bottle feeding supplements to make sure she got her nourishment but she is 8 ounces now and doing fine.  Tamara will have her pick of BonBon and Bubbles.  Karin and Amanda will have second pick so it is likely both shaded cream girls are spoken for.  What a cutie I am, just like an ice cream bon bon, I could eat her up!!!

Bubbles is my name.  I am a female  and I am going to be a looker.  Tamara will have to choose between my sister BonBon and me.  It will be a hard choice but one of us is going to Australia.  The other will be happy here in Arizona with Amanda or Karin.

BooBoo Harley Litter 2

Whelped April 21nd, 20010.  Not to be outdone by her sister Ebony, what a nice litter. Three girls and a boy.   Three are shaded creams and onr of the little girls is a black and cream  Beautiful little English Creams.  Remember, all English Creams are born dark (except those who also have the ee gene series which blocks the black hair) and then turn light.  These puppies will be colored like Blondie and Candy.  They will be light English Cream but will retain some black "shading" on their ears, tails or back.  The amount and location of the shading will vary from dog to dog.  Of course the black and cream girl will look like her daddy Harley.

Here is what we learn from this litter and the previous litter of BooBoo and Harley.
1.  Harley does not (likely) carry the ee gene.  Since BooBoo is ee and none of the puppies are, Harley must be EE.  This makes all of the puppies Ee.  The ee gene blocks ALL black hair and the puppy is born light cream.  Normally English Creams are born dark, almost black and then turn Cream as the black puppy hair falls out and the cream undercoat shows through.
2.  BooBoo does carry for Black and Tan.  This is great news.  They did not have a single Black and Cream puppy the first go around so I thought Boo did not carry for it.   Both of her parents (Ruby and Preston) did and it seems she also got the gene.  Her Agouti gene series isnot  ayay - red, red, it is ayat red carrying for black and tan.  If she did not have the Chinchilla gene chch she would be red herself and so would her puppies but the Chinchilla gene turns the red to English Cream.  We know this because Harley is atat (black with tan points) and Boo has now had a black and cream puppy.   As I said last time,  if she did carry the at gene at least one puppy would (likely) have been atat = black and tan.  Then the chch Chinchilla dilution would have turned the tan points cream and we would have had a black and cream.  Well, this time she did.  Last litter she chose not to pass the black pattern to a puppy, this time she did.

Boo Boo and Harley Litter 2

BooBoo has 17 Champions in her 5 generation pedigree and Harley boasts International Champion Brandach's Mr. Goodbar,  Canadian Champion Billie of Brandach along with several other Rose Farms and Stoneleigh Champions for a total of 17 champions in his 5 generation pedigree.  Harley will be a champion in his own time.

DASHaHOUNDS WHIMSICAL CHAMPAGNE                                                                               DASH OF HARLEQUIN MOON AT FULL CIRCLE

Shown here as 11 and 12 week puppies to give you an idea what your puppy might look like about the age you bring it home.      You can learn more about either parent on their own page and also see them in action in the slide flash show.

BooBoo has grown into a real beauty.  She is a light EE cream.  EE creams have no black hair at all and are rare.  Harely is an incredible Black and Cream.  For those of you who do not know, a black and cram is 100% English Cream.  The English Cream gene is the Chinchilla gene.  To be  English Cream, a dog must have two Chinchilla genes.  A dog who would otherwise have been red (BooBoo) comes out cream, a dog who would otherwise have been black and tan (Harley) comes out black and cream.  The Chinchilla gene has no effect on black.  So both of these parents are 100% English cream and can only produce Creams, shaded creams or black and creams, all of which are 100% English Cream.  The E series gene that BooBoo has eliminates all shading.  There must be two EE genes for this to take effect.  We know BooBoo has two but do not know if Harley has one or not.  So we do not kinow if any of the litter will be EE creams or not.  If not, they will be shaded creams andor/ black and creams.   These puppies will be EXTRAORDINARY.  We expect some show quality English Creams.  This will be a "pricey" litter but worth it if you are looking for a high quality English Cream line puppy.

You hear a lot about temperament but until you EXPERIENCE the differences you can not appreciate them.  Harleyis the original "mellow fellow".  He is sweet and never fights with others.  Even as a little tyke, NOTHING fazed him.  If the other puppies growled at him he simply ignored them.  He was not intimidated; it was as though it was beneath him to bother to reply.  You could hold him in your lap and pet him or watch TV and he would stay still.  Yet he can play fetch with the best of them.

BooBoo is moderate temperament, not as wild as her mother nor calm as her father.  She is a beautiful blend of both.  She is a wonderful dog and  her litter will be loving, active, independent and yet controllable.  She is loving and she shows it.

There are no guarantees and individual puppies can vary greatly but we expect their puppies to be a mix of ACTIVE and MATURE.  By MATURE I mean they will hold still to let children pet them and behave well very early.  Many puppies are so active and silly they can not be much company for a year or longer.  Active puppies are good for young children because they wear each other out but are harder to deal with for the first year.  Even mature puppies have abundant energy and can play and fetch, etc. it is just that they will calm down and hold still.  Active puppies are almost always in motion.   With BooBoo being active and Harley being mellow we expect to get some of each.  These two dogs also compliment each other physically.

We try very hard to give each owner a realistic expectation of the puppy they adopt.  We do not have any mean or ill tempered dogs.  We will not tolerate a trouble maker and certainly will not include it in our breeding program, no matter what the pedigree.  Some bad or aggressive behavior is learned and some inherited, we try to start you with the best temperament possible to give you that head start.
